It is a lamp for interiors (but it can also be occasionally used outdoors and only if it doesn't rain) thought for being set on tables and/or bedside tables.
Elica falls within the category of "table lamps". (top)
2 - How do you use it ?
To turn it on, with the helix stopped, blow directly towards it and verify that it makes a sufficient number of revolutions (turns). When the sufficient number of turns is achieved a courtesy led will turn on to warn that the main light is going to turn on.
To turn it off you must wait until the helix has been completely stopped for a couple of seconds and then repeat the operation of blowing towards it.. The lamp will stay in its on or off state un till you will blow towards it again. (top)
3 - How does it work ?
Elica is a special lamp whose on/off switch is represented only by the helix. It should be connected to the wall plug and then, by blowing on the helix, it will be turned on or off. (top)
4 - How do you turn it on ?
With the helix completely stopped, blow towards it. (top)
5 - How do you turn it off ?
With the helix completely stopped, blow towards it. (top)
6 -How much light does it do? How bright does it get ?
According to the power of the light source it can illuminate producing between 230 and 300 lumen, a light strong enough to read a book on the bed or to light up a room with a relaxing aura. (top).
7 - With which materials is it made ?
Stainless steel, plastic (ABS), hand-blown glass, electronics and various cables. (top)
8 - What is the light source ?
Elica uses a last generation energy saving light source. You can use the 7W (included in the pack) or the 9W version. All these light sources have a guaranteed lifelong of 15.000 hours (turned on for 8 hours a day it will last for more than 5 year). The models are the Gx0107i and the Gx0109i. Refer to the web site of the producer for more information www.megaman.cc(top)
9 - What kind of light can it produce ?
You can choose to use light sources with different colour temperature (the higher the colour temperature index the whiter and "cold" the light will be, with lower colour temperature values instead you will have a more "relaxing" light, slightly turning to yellow): 6500K (very white light), 4000K (slightly warmer light), 2700K (very warm light). (top)
10 - How long does the light source last ?
the lifelong is 15.000 hours. with a realistically conceivable medium usage rate of 4 hours a day, the light source would last more than 10 years, while if the usage is raised to 8 hour a day it will last for more than 5 years. (top)
11 - Is it possible to change the light bulb ?
Of course; it is very easy to change. Please refer to the instruction manual provided in the pack for the description of the correct "light bulb replacement" process.. (top)
12 - Is Elica sold with a light bulb included ?
Yes, Elica is sold with the GX0107i Megaman light. A 7W energy saving model with a lifelong guaranteed 15.000 hours and with a colour temperature of 2700Kelvin (warm light). (top)
13 - What is the helix that sticks out of the lamp ?
The helix is uniquely used to turn off an on the lamp, it is the switch. After having blown the helix will stop and the lamp will stay either on or off. (top)
14 - Can I direct the helix towards me ?
Of course, Elica can be turned to any direction because the bottom spherical part is completely separated from the three footed steel base.(top)
15 - Why is there a purple light when I blow to turn on the lamp ?
The led is telling us that the lamp is going to turn on after 2/3 seconds(top)
16 - Why Elica doesn't turn on immediately ?
Elica is fitted with a fluorescent energy saving light source that need around 2 seconds to turn on. The courtesy led goes on to warn the user that the light bulb is going to turn on right after. In this way the latency time required by the light source to turn on will not disturb the user and the feedback will help us to tell wither our blow was able to turn on the lamp or not.(top)
17 - Why is that when I turn on Elica it doesn't do much light ?
It is due to the fact that Elica is equipped with fluorescent energy saving light bulbs that need a small amount of time to reach the correct level of brightness. After 2 minutes Elica will reach the optimal brightness level.(top)
18 - I've plugged the lamp in the power plug, I've blown but it doesn't turn on! why ?
Probably the light bulb needs to be hooks back to its light socket. Follow the instruction manual to perform correctly the operation(top)
19 - Can't find the switch ?
Elica doesn't have a normal switch; the switch is the helix that sticks out of the lamp. To turn on and off you just have to blow strong enough towards it. Before blowing verify that the helix is stopped. (top)

Inside the electronic circuit uses led free contacts and components and it has a highly efficient energy saving light source. The packaging is built with a special type of cardboard. In any case the best way to respect the environment is to build a long lasting object that can give the pleasure of use for a long time, and Elica is built to be very robust, to last for a long long time.
